Have you ever wondered how things got the way they are?
Maybe you would like an answer to that question too. I have been digging into some of the dirt in my life, and here is what I have found. Certainly I don’t know all the answers, but this fits. Use it as you like.
If you have an idea that life just kind of fell in on you, I’m sorry to hear that. I find that we all play some kind of part in how it becomes the way it does. Remember I said “a part”. All of our parts add up to the whole puzzle. Take away your part, and there is a hole in the puzzle. OK, enough puzzling metaphors.
Everyday we go around having all kind of thoughts, about ourselves and everyone else. Most of the time, I suspect, we don’t even realize all this is going on in our heads, because we are so focused on the screens in front of us. So if these thoughts are guiding us as we move around avoiding pain and seeking pleasure, then they become our guides. Kind of like you might steer a car, but guided by your thoughts.
So, if this works for you, making up the thoughts that might be what you want is a START towards a really good life. Don’t ever stop aiming your thoughts the right direction, or you might end up with your own created accidents.
Below is a wonderful set of thoughts towards that goal, written by Bob Perks.
I wish you enough.
We are wanting the other person to have a life filled with just enough good things to sustain them.
I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright no matter how gray the day may appear.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more. I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting.
I wish you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger. I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess. I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good bye.
