I mean how ARE you, really? Is it a struggle, or what? We all want something out of our daily lives. It could be today or someday, something to accomplish eventually.
Along the way we are little engines, working to feel good, to feel like things are working out. We continue doing the things that feel good, and we become the person formed by these things we do.
Personally, I struggle a lot to get things my way, and to feel good each day. Sometimes getting a feel good feeling is like candy in the struggle. But candy doesn’t satisfy, really. Watch out for people offering you candy.
Sometimes I can move around, swimming along with all the stuff going on around me, and not push against anything at first. With a feeling of being part of this world and all that is going on, I am more peaceful inside and able to actually get more done. Strange, huh? With that feeling, I can do things in ways that are less exhausting and more fulfilling. Really.
This doesn’t mean I am just more agreeable, but less in combat with my world, so I’m less bruised and not looking for candy so often. I am satisfied living inside my own skin. Others around me seem to be less of a problem, just people who are doing their lives the best they can.
Try looking around and seeing your fellow man, each of us just trying to get along in our own lives.
Maybe then we can keep finding the ways to work out living on this world with each other. Maybe.
