Ahh, it’s all for the best. Why not. The other side of it is to be called insensitive. OK, let’s make up our minds.
Can you imagine not being able to feel something with your fingertips? In my humble opinion, we mortal humans are blessed with the joys and delicious rewards of these things. We are each a rainbow of senses and sensitivities.
How is it to be touched? Is that exquisite or too personal and tender? Only you know. Or do you? Just notice and appreciate what there is going on for yourself and enjoy the parts that suit you best. Your choice.
I’m guessing that we have grown from our cave man days. We appreciate our senses more consciously than our cave man ancestors probably did. Sounds like a good direction of human evolution to me. But it’s true, I’m guessing about the ancestors.
The pleasure of sensual touch is an individual gift, something that can be a great joy. Something to pause and really appreciate. Do not be so busy with the distractions of the overstimulated world to not even notice.
Our fingertips are relegated to typing and swiping all too much. Feel the textures of your clothing with those same fingertips.
Touch someone you care about tenderly, with presence of mind and attention to your fingertips and the caring thoughts that can fly freely with that moment. Just remember I did not give you permission to touch strangers on the bus.
Practice tenderness. It is a gift we all could use more of. And it grows and gives and receives the best kind of satisfaction.
